Chalandras.

That's the name of the five-star restaurant frequented by state officials, corporations, and even celebrities. Chalandras is a state restaurant located in the middle of the city center. There, all privacy owned by the visitor can be guaranteed safety. And that's the reason why Ken William Maxime, a charming and successful young businessman chose this place as his meeting place with Violetta Gloretha Chalandra. The beautiful girl nicknamed Aphrodite never came to meet him.

Ken was bored. He wanted to get out of here and see his girlfriend Nerissa.

But, once again he couldn't. He couldn't let Nerissa down.

After a while, from a distance Ken could see a girl in a regular light blue home dress walking by occasionally greeting the friendly employees who were there. Of course Ken knew very well who it was.

It was Violetta Gloretha Chalandra. Honestly, Ken was quite mesmerized by the Aphrodite's beauty. Violetta Gloretha Chalandra was even beautiful in just a home dress.

How about when she wears a dress?

It would definitely be more beautiful, right?

"Mr. Ken William Maxime?" she asked once she reached him.

"Yes... Please have a seat, Miss Violetta Gloretha Chalandra."

Vio smiled briefly. She seated herself in front of Ken in a very graceful manner. Ken held his breath. How could she look so classy just by sitting?

Ken continued to stare at the girl. He even noticed how Vio held her fork and the way she ate fascinated Ken. One more thing, this girl is the daughter of a millionaire. Don't ask how much wealth she has. Add to that the title of the only daughter that was neatly pinned on her.

So, doesn't Vio have enough money to buy some classy clothes? Isn't this light blue home dress so ordinary?

"What's wrong with me?" She asked, feeling uncomfortable because Ken kept looking at her.

"Yes, there is something strange."

"What's strange?"

"How can you look so beautiful even in this simple dress?"

Vio was silent. She digested Ken's words and gave a faint smile. "Why? Are you getting attracted to me?"

"Violetta Gloretha Chalandra, the goddess Aphrodite. Tell me who wouldn't be captivated by you, hm? I think everyone would fall under your spell. Ahh... How is this? My future wife is so beautiful. I'm getting anxious."

Vio just smiled in response to Ken's babble. "Why did you accept this engagement?"

"I believe you're a good person."

Ken chuckled in his heart.

What did Vio just say? A good person? This girl didn't even know him and already assumed that Ken was a good person? Thank goodness. She's so pretty but stupid. Her brain was empty.

"You don't know me yet, Miss Violetta."

"Then let's get to know each other, Mr. Ken."

"Should we?"

"Of course! Now let me ask you a question. Why did you accept this engagement?"

Ken was silent now.

Should he tell the real reason why he accepted this ridiculous engagement? Should he lay out all his neat plans?

"Of course because you're beautiful. And you know what, Violetta Gloretha Chalandra? Pretty girls... Usually keep a lot of secrets."

Vio froze. Why did Ken suddenly say that? Did he already know the truth?

-----

"What did you get, bro?"

"I don't know... I'm not sure, Nerissa."

Nerissa frowned in displeasure. What did she mean by not sure?

"Don't tell me you're already in love with him?"

Ken was silent. He knew what he was doing was wrong. Even from the beginning his intentions were wrong. But for some reason, the closer he got, the more hesitant he became. Would a girl as bright as Violetta Gloretha Chalandra really do such a heinous thing?

Nerissa clenched her hands tightly. Ken's silent mode made everything seem even clearer. "You're lying! You bastard!"

"Nerissa, listen to me first."

"No way! You intend to leave me, right? You bastard!"

"I said listen to me first!" Ken snapped which immediately made Nerissa pause.

"I haven't found anything strong yet. That girl is too complicated to understand. So please be patient a little longer. Don't act stupid and mess things up." Ken explained.

Nerissa looked down. With some hesitation she walked over to Ken and put her arms around his waist. She could feel Ken's chest rising and falling. This man must be controlling his anger.

Nerissa could vouch for that.

"I was just afraid you'd leave me... You know you're all I have."

Ken was silent. Actually, he wasn't sure either. But...

"I won't leave you, Nerissa. You know that for sure."

-----

Two families gathered at a famous private restaurant. Violetta Gloretha Chalandra had done so to set things straight. Everyone had gathered except for the man. Her fiancé and future husband, Ken William Maxime, had not arrived. Vio stroked the white gold ring that was beautifully encircled on her ring finger. She smiled wryly.

Everything was so beautiful, but unfortunately it had to end like this.

"What do you really want to talk about, son?"

It was the umpteenth question Vio had gotten from Ken William Maxime's family. The girl was silent.

Should she just say it without waiting for Ken? The girl shook her head. No... It's not good. So Vio chose to wait a little longer. But suddenly,

[TING]

A new message arrived on Vio's cell phone. The girl opened it. From an unknown number. A photo with the words.

'Ken is with me tonight. So don't wait for him like a sad girl.'

Vio smiled wryly. It was true. The hand the messenger was holding was Ken's. Vio could tell from the ring worn there. It was their engagement ring. And Vio knew it by heart.

Well, there's no point in waiting for Ken William Maxime, right? So it's better to just start this core event.

"My purpose in gathering these two families is to... Cancel this engagement."

Everyone looked surprised. Not to mention Ken's own father, "Violetta Gloretha Chalandra... Why, did Ken do something wrong to you? Tell me, child. Let me beat up that ignorant man!"

"No... No, he didn't. Ken... He is a good man. He takes good care of me. It's just that... We don't love each other. And I think it will be bad if this engagement goes ahead. Ken deserves a much better girl than me."

Vio's explanation made everyone silent.

If it's like this, can they?

"I'm done. I apologize if I offended any of you. I'll excuse myself."

'BRAK'

Ken opened the door with a rough and ragged breath. He cast his eyes around the room but to no avail. He couldn't find the silhouette of the girl he was looking for.

"Where's Violetta?" He asked with his breath ragged.

No one answered his question, making Ken even more angry.

"I said where is Violetta!!!" He snapped, echoing throughout the room.

His brother slowly got up and walked towards him. Standing facing each other, he took Ken's hand and placed a diamond-covered box there. Ken was speechless.

He knew exactly what this box was. A few months ago he gave it to Violetta as an engagement ring.

But... This?

"Violetta is gone. She officially ended your engagement and returned the ring."

At that moment Ken's whole world seemed to stop in place.

-----

"Poor Violetta Gloretha Chalandra, didn't I tell you not to say 'yes' so easily to this engagement? But you were so defiant."

Vio stared at Ken with a look of anger and hatred. "You're a liar, Ken William Maxime."

"And how unfortunate that you only know that now? You're so stupid, Violetta. Being beautiful is not enough to attract the opposite sex. If your brain is empty it's just as useless..."

Vio clenched her hands tightly together. Today. From today on she hated Ken with all her heart.

"Tell me what you want from me?" He asked in such a cold tone.

"Even if I say it you won't be able to give it to me, Violetta."

Vio furrowed her brows in confusion. What was it that Vio couldn't give her?

Ken smiled wryly. He chuckled, "I'm sick of seeing that innocent look on your face."

"I really don't understand what you mean. I-"

'PRAKK'

Ken threw a photo figurine that was on his nightstand, hitting Vio on the forehead and injuring her. The dripping blood was ignored by the girl. Slowly but surely, Vio began to open the upturned figurine on her lap. And once it was upside down, she was shocked to see who was in the harmonious portrait. Nerissa Rosalie and-

"You make my Nerissa lonely. You made my Nerissa cry every day and almost go crazy. You made that girl live alone in this harsh world. And you! With no feelings can you still live well?! You have no heart Violetta Gloretha Chalandra. You savage! You-"

"ENOUGH! STOP!" Vio shouted in a loud and frustrated voice.

All of Ken's words hurt her.

The girl's eyes were red and slightly glassy. Her hands were clenched so tightly that it felt like her nails were starting to pierce her skin and hurt her. But it was nothing compared to the pain Ken was inflicting by bringing up wounds he had buried long ago.

"It's my fault! Yell at me with the worst words you know! But one thing, do you know why I did it? Have you ever asked me why? No! All you care about is how to get your lover's revenge! Right?! Tell me, asshole! I was right, wasn't I?!"

Ken was silent as Vio even grabbed him by the shirt he was wearing. The girl beat his chest so hard. But Ken was silent. He confirmed what Vio said.

Why didn't he try to find out why Vio did all those things?

"I tried to trust you and give you all of me. Many times I told myself that you were a good person and wouldn't hurt me. But what?! You're the devil, Ken William Maxime!"

Vio nodded her head. Alright, she understood. The girl walked a little away from Ken's presence.

"Do you know why I did it, Ken?" Her almost inaudible whisper. The questioner remained silent while giving her an indecipherable gleam in his eyes.

"I'll show you why I did it."

And slowly, the girl unfolded one by one the fabric that was attached to her. Ken widened his eyes. What was Vio about to do?

"Hey! You-"

"Stay where you are." She said coldly. Ken was only able to comply.

Vio continued to do her thing until she was left with bright red underwear clinging to her body.

The girl walked over. Ken furrowed his brows until the girl actually reached him, and what happened next was... What he saw on the girl's body really surprised him a lot.

"Vio, you..."

Ken was unable to continue his words. Because really what he saw now was completely beyond expectations.

Violetta Gloretha Chalandra was crying, for the umpteenth time, she was crying over the same thing. Things that were clearly not worth crying over.

But what can it be, all these things hurt her so much and made her sick.

That man had managed to destroy the entire life Violetta Gloretha Chalandra had even now.

"You're hurting the wrong person, Ken William Maxime. I'm nothing more than a weak girl trying to look good. You did it. Tell your lover that you managed to break me. And thanks for all the pain, I'm enjoying it just fine."
