"Harry, this is the result of Daphne's premarital health screening. The shape of her hymen shows that she’s no longer a virgin and that she’s had a child before."

Daphne Goodwin had returned to retrieve some belongings which she had left behind in the examination room. However, she never expected to hear Olivia Goodwin talking about her with disdain.

She had raised her hand and was about to knock on the door when her motions stopped mid-air. Her pupils constricted and her eyes widened in surprise.

She had given birth to a child?

How could it be possible?!

"That's impossible! You must have made a mistake!"

An emotional voice suddenly came from the examination room. It belonged to Harry Ambrose, who was none other than Daphne's fiance.

Daphne froze. Didn't Harry leave after they were done with the premarital health screening?

"Harry, I'm a doctor. How could I have made a mistake?" Olivia said angrily.

"No, it's impossible..." Harry’s voice trailed off.

Olivia grabbed the opportunity and continued, "You’ve had your doubts about Daphne for a long time, haven’t you? Isn’t that why you asked me to perform the virginity test during her premarital health screening? So that you are absolutely sure before you marry her? Why won’t you believe me now?"

Daphne's mind went blank!

Her body went stiff, as if she had been struck by lightning and couldn’t move at all.

Harry had been doubting her all this while? He even asked Olivia to do a virginity test while Daphne underwent her premarital health screening? Had he never trusted her?

"Will you still marry Daphne after knowing her past?" Olivia asked.

Harry did not answer her immediately.

Daphne was so nervous that she clenched her fists tightly.

After pausing for a while, Olivia hurriedly said, "Please don’t tell me that you still want to marry her. Harry, don't be stupid. Who knows what happened a year ago..."

"Shut up!" Harry screamed hysterically. Something seemed to have fallen to the ground at the same time, and it made a loud crashing sound as it met the ground.

Though she could not see his expression, Daphne knew Harry well enough to know that his eyes must be bloodshot right now and glaring fiercely at Olivia.

As Daphne had thought, Harry still minded it.

He could not even stand the mention of those three words. The phrase "a year ago" was his taboo.

Daphne took a deep breath and opened the door to the examination room in one swift motion.

"Daphne?" Harry and Olivia exclaimed at the same time.

"Why are you doing this to me?" Daphne glanced coldly at Harry.

She could not believe that this man was secretly investigating her before their wedding.

Harry froze on the spot for a while before walking to the door anxiously. He held Daphne's hand and said, "Daphne..."

"Why?" Daphne was proud and would not back down. She bit down on her lip and forced herself to look into Harry's eyes.

"Daphne, stop it! I shouldn’t have asked Olivia to secretly do the test on you." Harry explained.

Daphne’s anger was slightly soothed when she saw the nervousness on Harry's face.

However, Harry hadn’t finished. "I know I shouldn’t have done it. But what about you? Don’t you owe me an explanation too?"

"Explanation? What else can I tell you?"

"Have you ever had a child? And where had you gone during that whole year when you were missing?"

Harry's cold tone while he questioned Daphne shocked her out of her daydream. She shuddered. She was so hurt by his demeanor that it felt like someone had stabbed her with a thousand swords.

Daphne freed herself from his clasp and said bitterly, "I guess you have never believed me before..."

"I only believe in facts! And the fact is that you were keeping secrets from me. Do you still want to lie to me?!" Harry's voice became emotional. "I’ve been stupid. How have you fooled me for so many years?!"

Daphne gritted her teeth and stared at him for a few seconds before forcing herself to say in retaliation, "Since you care so much about what happened, we might as well forget about getting married!"
