- As everyone knows, proud men and women of our nation are fighting in a war that has been going on for quite some time - said the teacher to the class.

Four years, three months, and two days - Jasmine clarified in her head.

- Some of these brave soldiers have been there for a long time and they need to remember their home and why they are fighting. As such, the president has implemented a new volunteer program. Anyone who wants to can sign up with me and a soldier will be assigned. You should know that there are many regulations and you cannot talk about everything in case the letters are intercepted, no one will know your real name for safety, but it is a rare opportunity to directly help in the war.

They inform us of this because these soldiers have absolutely no one left to write to… They are far from home fighting for their lives and they have no one - Jasmine thought with a frown.

- For those of you who are interested, please come to me after class. Now, for today I thought we would work on ...

Usually, the studious Jasmine listened to her teacher with great attention, always eager to learn more about the military world. However, today its special announcement had taken her by surprise and the voice of this went to the background and preferred to get lost in her thoughts.

Were there lonely men and women who didn't realize how amazing they were? How was the heroic sacrifice they were doing?

Coming from civil parents, Jasmine knew how difficult it was to believe in something strongly and not receive the support and praise that she had always wanted. Her parents understood on a fundamental level why she wanted to become a military man, but they were not sympathetic when she came home tired or injured.

Why would purposely throw something that certainly kills her?

But she was stubborn and thought that the soldiers who refused to leave or die at the front must also be going through something like that. They deserved to have someone to hear or read a word of encouragement from, to know that there was an individual out there who cared whether they lived or not.

Feeling full of self-righteousness, she strutted over to her teacher's desk after class was over.

- I had a feeling that would interest you, Jasmine. And I know a person perfect who assign. He's being a little stubborn and many people have r statement because it did not respond, but thinks this person needs more pals than any other and are one pers equally stubborn one for this job.

- Is there something you can tell me about him or her?

- Well, as I said, everything will be strict and regulated. Lam then everyone will say I can only give you e l number which is assigned to. You have to wait for receiving his letters to know something about him.

Jasmine looked at the piece of paper he gave her. It only had a four-digit number: 2284. She frowned thinking that it was strange that a person had been reduced to a number. Maybe it was for security or maybe it was easier to organize people if they were only numbers, but that did not remove the feeling of sadness that this gave him, they were people not objects, but even so, she decided not to express any of these thoughts to her professor and preferred to leave them locked in a corner of her mind.

- Whenever you want to write a letter, but the number on the envelope with the name: Letter Exchange soldier underneath and don't worry about the address, or others will take care of that.

- Ok- said Jasmine, suddenly feeling very small in the face of responsibility.

- And Jasmine? - His teacher reached out and put it on the shoulder - Thanks.

Jasmine found herself smiling again at the sincerity in her master's voice.
